In keeping with our theme of ‘spring cleaning’ and optimizing for our buyers, I’d like to take a bit of time and explain one of the more important things wholesale suppliers can do to be a better partner for their buyers.
It comes up in our conversations with buyers regularly, the idea that modern inventory systems aren’t very easy to navigate or understand. What our buyers need from their primary suppliers and secondary suppliers like Broughton Pharmaceuticals is inventory and supply information, wrapped up and packaged in a way that fits their busy days.
There’s also the question of correctness. If I give a buyer a list of product we have on hand, ready to ship today, what good is it to that buyer if that list was correct 2 weeks ago? If a secondary supplier provides inventory information, it should be as up to date as possible; it’s better for buyers to not have it than to rely on it and for that information to be wrong or incomplete.
